My inspirations are from everything I see and I feel. Beauty of nature is the strongest influences that I get. I paint abstract forms of nature and incorporate my emotions and memories to create a fantastical endless space on canvas. Most of my artwork has wings and feathers as a subject matter and is painted in blue, which means hope, calmness and freedom to me. When people face despair, they do not lose hopes and they dream of overcoming it one day. Icarus from Greek Mythology, built wings as he dreamt of flying high across the sky. I want the viewers to think about Icarus’s dream of flying rather than Icarus’s limits and unhappy ending. My artwork is open-ended for the viewers to come up with their own imaginations and stories. As many people know, blue bird symbolizes happiness. I hope my paintings to be like blue birds to the viewers.
