German artist, Ioanna Terharn was born in Greece and raised in Germany. She holds a degree in Economics but devotes herself to painting, her passion since childhood. Ioanna’s portfolio includes realistic and abstract paintings, oil on canvas and wood as well as monotype abstract prints and photography. She likes paintings in big and small sizes. Ioanna demonstrates a unique approach to the study of the face itself as well as the imbedded personality. Since 2001, Ioanna Terharn has shown her work in exhibitions, galleries and museums in several countries. Her subjects include not only historical and contemporary figures who have made noteworthy contributions and sacrifices, but also highlight normal people from her environment. "Ioanna is a storyteller who gives every subject, both the celebrated and the nameless, a touch of immortality." (Katrin Alvarez - wellknown artist, lawyer and journalist). In November 2012, Ioanna received the 16th Goddess Artemis Award from the Euro-American Women‘s Council presented by Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and Loula Loi Alafogiannis in Washington DC.
