Tanmaya Bingham

Santa Fe NM USA
My work investigates the mechanics of human dynamics and the neurological processes that create patterns in our daily lives. I focus on psychological, sociological and genealogical patterns that occur within my immediate circles. Although the content of my work is highly personal, the themes are universal. Each artwork or series of artworks explores these themes and how they can be altered to create new patterns. I choose myself, my family and my friends as primary subjects because I believe that we learn through examples and the stories of others. Each artwork, whether it is a painting, sculpture, drawing or installation, is laden with symbolism. When these concepts are delivered in visual form they become a metaphoric map that is meaningful for both the subject and the viewer.
