I am compelled to create. My artwork uses the techniques of the past in a modern and whimsical manner. I am very diverse in my use of materials, subjects and inspiration arranging the familiar with my own rhythm. My paintings begin with a series of sketches I plan how I will execute the composition, where as my sculpture I begin with a rough sketch then let the material speak to me as I’m working. My still-life pieces display my enthusiasm for color and my interest in ordinary objects. The process of creating, the love of playing with a variety of textures, and color is my greatest pleasure. When the image stays with me and speaks to me, I know I’m finished with the piece.
