I love the outdoors and nature is usually the subject of my art. I am fortunate to live an hour away from the mountains and head there whenever I can. When I hike I look down on the ground, I look up at the trees. I imagine the world from how an ant may see it. My favourite subjects are larger than life as a small animal or insect might see it. I am constantly seeking materials that will give my art texture and dimension and especially a 3d effect. I have a love of rocks and sand and like to put these elements into the pictures whenever I can. The 3d and textured effects allow the paintings to absorb and reflect light and the works seem to be constantly changing as the light in the room changes.
