This Summer I engaged in an intense and sustained dialogue with the landscape in order to find meaning beyond the superficial appearance of the environment. Seeking something untamed and primeval in the natural world hoping to unlock an understanding of our lives through an examination of our beginnings. The insights landscape gave me, transitioned into my intimate involvement into space: interior and inner. This space fractures from abstract to representative, from color to being mute, from drawing to painting. In the recent transition I have been looking at the figure in space with the elements of landscape, or rather, I engaged in a dialog between my inner and external worlds. The sensations of landscape transcends into my emotional space, and combines with the immediate external surroundings. My aim is to create an order, and to give voice to what it means to truly see, feel, and be part of the place where you stand, both literally and metaphorically.
