As a expressionist palette knife painter, I am fascinated by the essence of paint, how it's thickness and fluidity can mold an object, add character to a scene. Movement and texture of paint are the driving forces behind my paintings. Whatever the subject, whether portraits or landscapes or street scenes, I aim to convey emotion and ambiguity in each piece, enabling each viewer to derive his own personal interpretation and meaning to each work.
Born and raised in Manhattan, I first studied painting as a student at the Fiorello H. La Guardia High School of Music and Art in NYC. Later, in college at SUNY Binghamton, I trained under
abstract expressionist painter and Whitney Museum artist, Angelo Ippolito, as well as at Parson's School of Design, where I discovered and developed my style of bold color and texture.
