My works contain different styles, but the connotation behind each work is the same: realizing the reality and dream. The inspirations are from the scenes of an exact point, which addresses the abandon of the reality based on the orderly memory, that I encountered and got touched in daily life, however, even the representational works are not the record of those scenes but after my reorganization or the abstraction with imagination. In this sense, the images are the dreams. The process is like making collages mentally. One moment does not mean single space. My works create many spaces on theirs 2D surface, such as indoor, outdoor, above and underneath space, becoming a navigation of a journey for viewers. All the objects, or the shapes are metaphors for me, reflecting that seeing something else in the other space but you are not in that space, having to breakthrough many hurdles to get to there, or some physical restrain is blocking you. I have some preferences on the objects I chose and the colors, which is based on my personal experience as well as the common cultural meaning. All works carry the dreams there. My inquiry through painting—personal and artistic—is to unearth the unconsciousness, building a dream, revealing the distance between reality and dream. My works explore the relationship between the inner world and the external world. The process is like making collages mentally. Through a device(the window in this body of work), the external world is blocked, unreachable and somehow of distance from me.
