I graduated Tbilisi State Academy of Art in 2010 with Master’s Degree in Advertising Graphics. I worked in Publishing Houses, creating book illustrations. My painting style evolved during those years- Brush strokes with acrylic paint are subtle, lines are sharp, never blurry, colors are bright, primary, with very little undertones. Bright, vivid colors, human-like creatures with eyes that center whole composition characterize much of my art. Inspiration for my paintings start in my dream- I sketch them as soon as I wake up, fully visualizing colors and composition. Though the subject matter of my work may vary, extraterrestrial creatures remain its constant theme. I prize eyes for its powerful symbolism and employ it to communicate emotion and mood. An eye metaphorically corresponds to spirits of subjects I paint. The motif of eye not so subtly accompanies every composition, creating spirit of my art. We all have our own perception of world with our eyes. My subjects trying to escape reality, they avoid to see the inevitable - with their wide open eyes these creatures attempt to see invisible. To notice eyes first is always my intention for audience. Having many eyes to take in everything that’s happening around us in this ever changing world is my secret phantasm. Above all, with whatever I create, I seek to impart a sense of vitality of our multifaceted lives, a celebration of the unknown, mystic side of our universe.
