Modern art is a diverse and oft contradictory amalgamation of styles and concepts. It can be argued though that the universal questions facing today's artists are still the same as they were a hundred years ago at the advent of modernism. The Human Condition and the way we perceive our world and ultimately, our place in the universe – are still valid and perpetual subjects of inquest. Anna's works are centered on our perception of beauty in nature. Her primary concern is to uncover the underlying element of the magical in everyday reality; to rekindle our wonder at the realm of nature. Stylistically, Anna's paintings recount the elegant curves and swirling arabesques of Art Nouveau, while her use of delicate muted tones is reminiscent of the Nabis movement. Anna's unique approach juxtaposes the peacefulness of nature with the essence of movement represented by the singular horse, a fox or, perhaps, ripples on the water surface. Anna hails from Saint Petersburg, Russia.
