"Bad People" is a series of portraits started in 2013 portraying detestable people in our past and present. Using a combination of contour and gesture the drawings begin to lend themselves to the personalities of each subject. Sensitive to the medium chosen there is a purpose for each application. The free flowing heavy brush strokes of Pablo Escobar ever so slightly give us a glimpse into this polarizing figure who often referred to himself as a man for the people. The fine lines combined with a hint of spot color depicts the true persona of Martha Stewart, often referred to as abusive in her business practices. By exaggerating features that borderline caricature there lies a subtle hint of humor and horror.
