Voluptuas Succubus Collection- This collection of photographs is of carnivorous plants the Artist has been cultivating for over a decade. The tight constraining of the subjects in their space brings the observer into the world of the plants from the viewpoint of their prey, portraying the individual subject’s unique carnivorous adaptations through intense compositions which bring movement and life to the works. This encompasses the sensual attraction and the sinister nature that these plants possess, and as such, the series is named for Voluptuas, Greek Goddess of the sensual pleasures and the Succubus, female demons that seduce and feed upon the souls of their victims. The individual works of the series are then selectively named for legendary female goddesses, monsters and spirits from the underworld of ancient Greek mythology to embody the story of femme fatales graced with haunting beauty and chthonic power.
