My artworks are an expression of my life experiences. It is a reflection of how I see objects, places and people around me. It is very personal, intimate and a mirror of my life history. One important factor in my life that inspires me to paint is motherhood. My daughter who is the most precious person in my life motivates me to come up with my subjects related to childhood. The place where I spent most of the past five years of my life has been my daughter’s nursery. Her nursery reminds me of my own childhood experiences. Sometimes these experiences were quite painful but I wanted to celebrate them in my paintings because it is a part of who I am. My past has helped me to become who I am today. These childhood experiences, toys, children characters and stories may be imperfect and yet I want to share them in my paintings because there is something valuable and special worth sharing and celebrating. For me, there is beauty in our life experiences both good and bad. Through my acrylic/oil paintings, drawings and conceptual art, I would like to share my experiences as a reflection of my growth as a person. My artworks are simply a diary of how I see objects, places and people in my everyday life. I think these subjects related to childhood experiences will appeal to the audience because it can also remind them of their own childhood either happy or sad.
