There is 8.4 million people currently living in New York. This city is a shelter for every nationality, race, people of any unique interests, any sex and genders. People who failed to find home in any other place end up finding it in New York. In this city emotinal distance between people is as big as a number of population density. Distance between two passangers in a subway equals eternity. In this project I used photography as the investigative tool to examine how average new yorker becomse alienated from the world by the pressure of routine. Inspired by Art Deco and Constructivist architectural styles I incorporate their key elemenst in the photos: geometric forms; muted colors; symmetrical patterns; steel; glass; concrete and stone.Minimalistic and clean look of the photographs reinforces a feeling of isolation in the big city. Building on the influence of Paul Strand, Edward Hopper Alexander Rodchenko and other realists and modernists I generated my own vision of street photography.
